UB City is Bengaluru's high-end retail and dining tower, useful mainly for a sunset drink at one of its rooftop bars before heading elsewhere. The real event is Indiranagar's 100 Feet Road and 12th Main, which have the highest concentration of microbreweries in the city — Toit, Windmills and Byg Brewski among the originals that made the neighbourhood's reputation.
Craft beer in Bengaluru is genuinely good by Indian standards, partly because the city's brewpub law predates most other states'. Expect a wait at the well-known spots on weekend nights; walk-ins after 9pm on a Saturday can mean an hour or more.
Highlights
- Rooftop bars at UB City for a sunset drink
- Toit and Windmills, two of the city's original microbreweries
- 100 Feet Road's dense restaurant and bar strip
- Live music at select breweries on weekends
Good to know
- Call ahead or book a table at Toit on weekends — walk-in waits can run past an hour
- UB City parking is valet-only and pricier than street parking nearby
- Indiranagar metro station puts you within walking distance of most of the brewery strip
