Church Street was pedestrianised in stretches and has become the closer thing Bengaluru has to a walkable evening district, packed with cafés, indie bookshops, and live music bars that run sets most nights of the week. Brigade Road, running perpendicular, is louder and more commercial — footwear, fast fashion and street food carts.
The two together cover a full evening: dinner and a gig on Church Street, then a walk down Brigade Road for street food or a late coffee. Weekend nights get genuinely packed, with parking essentially impossible after 7pm.
Highlights
- Live music bars on Church Street, most nights
- Blossom Book House and other indie bookshops
- Street food carts on Brigade Road after dark
- Pedestrian-friendly stretch during festival weekends
Good to know
- Skip driving — use the MG Road or Trinity metro stations and walk in
- Live music venues often have a cover charge on weekends, none on weeknights
- Blossom Book House is worth a browse even if you're not planning to buy — huge secondhand stock
